Conceptcard byla založena ve Svendborgu, Dánsku, v září 2005 a ve stejný měsíc vydala první verzi Bella Sara, které se tehdy jmenovala Bella. Bella se nejprve prodávala v Dánsku a později v Norsku a Švédsku. Od jejího vzniku bylo po celé Skandinávii prodáno přes 6 milionů karet.
Společnost Conceptcard byla založena ředitely Gitte Odder Brændgaard, Poulem Villadsenem a Peterem Andersenem. Gitte dostala nápad vytvořit Bellu, když pracovala jako sociální pracovnice a starala se o mentálně postižené mladé lidi. Díky pozitivním hodnotám a lásce k dětem své autorky představuje Bella Sara inspirující užitečná sdělení a hru podporující představivost, která byla navržena k povznesení dívek.
Bella je jméno opravdového koně dcery Gitte Sarah.
